Steal an Egg: All Eggs Reference Guide
Complete reference for Steal an Egg eggs, biome resets, guardians, speed thresholds, hatch times, and limited egg mechanics.

Overview
In Steal an Egg, eggs are the core progression mechanic. Players locate nests across biomes, steal eggs while avoiding sleeping guardian beasts, and carry them back to base pens to hatch into pets. This reference guide covers every egg type, biome layout, guardian behavior, speed thresholds, and hatch mechanics to help you plan runs and complete your index.
How Eggs Work in Steal an Egg
Each egg contains a unique pet whose value and eventual income depend on two factors: its size and its rarity. While eggs spawn in multiple colors, the color only changes the appearance of the egg and the hatched pet—it does not affect income generation. Players should evaluate eggs by their shape rather than their color.
Standard biome eggs follow a reset cycle. The official wiki states eggs reset every 5 minutes. Eldorado breaks this cycle into 4 minutes 50 seconds of active collection followed by a 10-second in-game night reset where all eggs grow 30x faster, while IGN reports resets occur every in-game night, approximately every 4.5 minutes. During these reset windows, new eggs spawn in nests across the map.
Biome Eggs, Guardians, and Speed Requirements
Steal an Egg currently features 11 biomes: Forest, Lake, Desert, Jungle, Snow, Volcano, Abyss Ocean, Prehistoric, Cosmic, Cherry Blossom, and Titan Temple. Each biome contains exactly 8 eggs, totaling 88 biome eggs in the game. IGN’s introductory text references 10 biomes, but its own biome table and third-party trackers confirm 11.
Every biome is protected by a specific guardian that sleeps beside the nests and chases players who attempt a theft. According to IGN’s biome breakdown, the guardians are: - Forest: Chicken - Lake: Swan - Desert: Swan (listed by IGN, though this appears to be a documentation error) - Jungle: Tiger - Snow: Yeti - Volcano: Cerberus - Abyss Ocean: Beluga Whale - Prehistoric: T-Rex - Cosmic: Cosmic Skeleton Boss - Cherry Blossom: Oni Tiger - Titan Temple: King Gorilla
Successfully escaping a guardian requires meeting recommended speed thresholds. IGN advises doubling the recommended speed to safely outrun guardians, as player interference and larger egg weights can slow you down. Recommended speeds are: - Forest: No requirement (starting biome) - Lake: 900 - Desert: 10K - Jungle: 40K - Snow: 170K - Volcano: 700K - Abyss Ocean: 2.5M - Prehistoric: 18M - Cosmic: 700M - Cherry Blossom: 2.5B - Titan Temple: 7B
Hatching eggs also contributes to the Pet Index. Completing entries grants scaling speed and money rewards. For example, the Forest biome index rewards range from +420 Speed and $100 for a Common Chicken up to +1k Speed and $180k for the Legendary Brr Brr Patapim.
Special, Secret, and Limited Eggs
Beyond the standard 88 biome eggs, Steal an Egg features limited special eggs that do not spawn in normal nests. These include Brainrot Eggs, Monster Eggs, Parasite Eggs, and Rift Eggs. They are exclusively available through the in-game Store or special events like Admin Abuse. IGN specifies that Brainrot Eggs are Store-only and require Robux to purchase. The Parasite Egg hatches either a Parasite Crustacia or Parasite Spideron at random rarity, though a Parasite Nightflame’s existence still requires verification.
Secret, Eternal, and Divine eggs operate on a different spawn system. They have no predictable spawn times and are rolled randomly during the standard 5-minute reset cycle. When they appear, the game announces their name and location server-wide. These high-tier eggs can spawn more than once per reset cycle and emit a visible glow, making them detectable from a distance.
Egg Sizes, Hatch Times, and Income
Larger eggs apply a higher value multiplier to the pet inside, but they also increase the egg’s weight, slowing down the player carrying it. This creates a risk-reward balance between targeting massive eggs for higher multipliers and maintaining enough speed to escape guardians and other players.
Hatch times scale based on rarity, size, weight, mutations, and growth boosts. Forest biome eggs typically hatch in around 30 seconds, while mid-biome eggs take a few minutes. Secret, Eternal, and Divine eggs require several hours, and huge or mutated endgame eggs can take 12 to 36 hours or longer. Reported hatch examples include a Monstrous T-Rex Egg at 1 hour, a Secret Scorched Dragon egg (weighing 3,240,000 kg) at 3 hours, and a Divine Unicorn egg at 12 hours.
Pet income varies widely across the index. Base rates range from $1/s for a Common Forest Chicken to $1.8k/s for the Forest’s Legendary Brr Brr Patapim. The total confirmed pet roster fluctuates with Saturday updates: games.gg listed 78 egg pets on September 8, 2026, IGN tracked 105 on September 5, 2026, and Eldorado counted 127 (88 biome pets plus 39 limited-egg-only pets) on September 11, 2026.
